Enterprise-grade AI and security —
without giving up control of your data.

PnP Computers is an Australian IT consultancy with 30+ years keeping SMB and enterprise environments secure. We offer two things, built from the same instinct: give smaller organisations enterprise-grade capability without handing their data to a third party.

AI in a Box

Your documents never leave your building.

AI in a Box is a private, on-premises document-intelligence appliance. Staff ask questions in plain English — "what's our leave policy?", "find the indemnity clause in the Acme contract" — and get answers grounded in your own documents, with citations. No cloud AI calls. No data egress. Full control.

The problem with cloud AI

Tools like ChatGPT and Copilot are genuinely useful — until your documents can't leave the building. Client contracts, health records, legal files, financial working papers: for many Australian firms, sending these to someone else's servers is blocked by policy, by client agreements, or by plain caution. The result is staff either miss out on AI productivity, or worse, paste sensitive content into public tools anyway.

The appliance answer

AI in a Box runs the full AI stack — language model, document index, chat interface — on a single server inside your network. It exposes nothing new to the internet and adds no new cloud vendor to trust. Install it, point it at your file shares, done. No per-user AI subscription, no usage metering, no dependency on someone else's uptime.

How it works

  1. Point it at your documents. The appliance indexes your existing file shares — PDFs, Word, Excel, scanned documents — on a schedule. Files stay where they are.
  2. Staff ask questions. A familiar chat interface, on your network. Plain-English questions against everything indexed.
  3. Answers come with receipts. Every answer cites the source documents it drew from, and says "I don't have enough information" rather than inventing one.

Secure Microsoft 365 Cloud

Know your Essential Eight maturity — with evidence, not guesswork.

A Microsoft 365 security and compliance assessment built around the frameworks Australian regulators, insurers, and government contracts actually reference: the ACSC's Essential Eight and the ASD Information Security Manual. Automated collection, scripted audits, and a report in which every finding traces back to your tenant's real configuration.

What gets assessed

  • Essential Eight — all eight strategies, scored at maturity level 1–3
  • ASD ISM controls, cited by control number
  • CIS Microsoft 365 Foundations Benchmark
  • ISO 27001 Annex A technical-control crosswalk
  • Identity: MFA coverage, admin privilege, legacy authentication
  • Email: SPF / DKIM / DMARC, Defender for Office 365 policy state
  • Data protection: sensitivity labels, DLP, retention maturity
  • Copilot readiness: SharePoint oversharing — what AI would surface, before you turn it on

What you receive

A board-ready report with an executive summary, a per-framework scorecard, and findings that carry IDs, framework citations, and severity based on evidence — plus a prioritised remediation roadmap with concrete steps, not just a score. Where a control can't be assessed on your licence tier, the report says so and prices the upgrade as a business decision, never as a hidden failure.

Tested on ourselves first

We ran our own SharePoint oversharing audit before offering it to anyone. It found 11 of our 17 sites — including one named "Private" — readable by every staff member, caused by a single Teams setting. We remediated it in an afternoon, with every change logged and reversible. That case study, and the method behind it, is what you're buying.

Who this is for

  • Businesses whose cyber insurer is asking for Essential Eight evidence at renewal
  • Organisations targeting Essential Eight maturity uplift — increasingly expected outside government
  • Teams preparing to enable Microsoft Copilot who need to know what it will surface
  • Anyone wanting an independent second opinion, distinct from whoever runs their M365 day to day

About

Thirty years of keeping Australian businesses running.

PnP Computers brings more than 30 years of Australian IT experience — from small business networks to the hybrid cloud, identity, and IoT environments of ASX-listed companies. Our certifications include MCSE, CCNA, Certified SonicWALL Engineer, and Sophos Certified Engineer, and PnP is a registered Microsoft Partner.

Both of our offerings come from the same experience: watching capable organisations either hand too much control to third parties, or pay for security and AI capability they never actually switch on. We build and configure what you already own, measure it against frameworks that matter in Australia, and leave you with evidence and documentation — not a dependency on us.
